Colliding localized, lumpy holographic shocks with a granular nuclear structure

چکیده

We apply a recent and simple technique which speeds up the calculation of localized collisions in holography to study more realistic models heavy ion via gauge/gravity duality. The initial data takes into account lumpy nuclear structure real ions projectiles' aspect ratio mimics Lorentz contraction nuclei during RHIC collisions. At hydrodynamization time central region quark gluon plasma developed collision, we find that most vorticity three vector's absolute value is deposited far away from hydrodynamized part plasma. Only relativistic corrections thermal are non-negligible. compare transverse flow after collision determined this work with previous results, without granular conditions determine proper energy density fluid velocity subregion

Holographic memory with localized recording.

We experimentally demonstrate and characterize a memory module that features selective page erasure and readout persistence using the localized recording method in doubly doped LiNbO(3). Pages of information can be selectively erased without partially erasing the whole memory. Data pages can be written over erased pages multiple times. Information is read millions of times before refreshing is ...

Localized shocks

We study products of precursors of spatially local operators, Wxn(tn) . . .Wx1(t1), where Wx(t) = e Wxe iHt. Using chaotic spin-chain numerics and gauge/gravity duality, we show that a single precursor fills a spatial region that grows linearly in t. In a lattice system, products of such operators can be represented using tensor networks. In gauge/gravity duality, they are related to Einstein-R...

Holographic Fine Structure in Nuclear Resonant Absorption

The majority of x-ray, electron and neutron scattering techniques are based on measuring the scattered wave intensity in the far field. Probing the scattered wave field inside the sample, which can be effected by monitoring the absorption of particular atoms or nuclei of the sample, makes it possible to use Gabor's holographic formalism [1] to analyze the scattering pattern and to overcome the ...

Creating sharp features by colliding shocks on uniformly irradiated surfaces

Using a theoretical analysis of the ion beam sputtering dynamics, we demonstrate how ion bombardment on an initially sloped surface can create knife-edge-like ridges on the surface. These ridges arise as nonclassical shocklike solutions that are undercompressive on both sides and appear to control the dynamics over a large range of initial conditions. The slope of the ridges is selected uniquel...

Eta Carinae: Bullet Streams and Colliding Wind Shocks

Eta Carinae, the most massive and most luminous star in our Galaxy, erupted in 1842 with an energy rivaling a supernova. It ejected approximately two solar masses of material to form an extended bipolar nebula (the homunculus), a variety of massive “bullets” (NN and NS knots and the South Bar) and the “spikes” (long narrow strings of bullets). We have performed spatial and spectral astrometry o...
